Breast cancer is known to be the most invasive cancer in women. Statistics show that Breast cancer is the most common cancer in females in the United States, except for skin cancers.

Cancer happens when cells in your breast keep growing and spread across the body uncontrollably, creating a mass of tissue called a tumour. A few of the most common symptoms of breast cancer can include feeling a lump in your breast, experiencing a change in your breast size, and witnessing some changes in your breast skin.

If you have a strong family history of breast cancer in your family, you will likely suffer from the disease in the future.

What are the causes?

It has been observed that getting breast cancer in women increases with their age. Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older. If you have a family history of breast cancer, it is more likely for you to get affected by it.

The risk factor of age and genetic mutation is something that you cannot control. However, fortunately, there are certain factors that you can take care of to reduce the risk of cancer.

The Causes of Breast Cancer in women that one can take care of are:-

1) Keep a healthy weight.

Try to avoid junk food as much as possible. It is advisable to add a generous amount of protein, vitamins, and minerals to your diet. Women who are not physically active have a higher risk of getting breast cancer.

2) Exercise regularly.

Older women who are overweight or obese have a higher risk of getting breast cancer than those at an average weight. Apart from taking care of what you eat, it is essential to engage yourself in physical activities like running, cycling, swimming, playing sports, gymming, and other activities to stay fit.

3) Don’t drink alcohol or limit alcoholic drinks.

Studies show that a woman’s risk for breast cancer increases with the more alcohol she drinks. Try to cut down your alcohol intake to reduce the chances of breast cancer.

4) Avoid Birth Control Pills

If you are taking hormone replacement therapy or oral contraceptives, i.e. birth control pills, or have been told to take. Ask your doctor about the risks and determine if it is right for you.

5) Breastfeed your children, if possible.

Studies have shown that breastfeeding reduces the chances of breast cancer significantly.

Staying healthy throughout your life will lower your risk of developing cancer and improve your chances of surviving cancer if it occurs.

What are the Symptoms?

When it comes to symptoms of breast cancer, you might have noticed that different patients show different symptoms. Some people do not have any signs or symptoms at all, while others may start experiencing symptoms of breast cancer at an early stage.   1. New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit).
